Devotional: More than Material
Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions." Luke 12:15
Jesus warns me to be on guard and to be discerning over my life, that i stay free free from covetousness (AMP: the immoderate desire for wealth, the greedy longing to have more). He reminds me that life is more than material things, that there is much more to real life than just gaining possessions.
i come to understand that the real meaning and purpose of life will never be found in what is inanimate. In many places, God's Word says human relations and spiritual worship have far greater importance.
today i pray to be more focused on people and not things.
