Devotional: Divine Consulting

Proverbs 16:1-3. The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the LORD. All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the LORD weighs the spirit. Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will be established.

In trying to stay within God's will and within His place of blessing I need to remember to be sensitive and yielded to the doors He would be opening and closing for this is one way I sense what opportunities He sees best for me to pursue or let go. I may put my very best efforts but I should be careful I don't end up forcing things to happen according to what I just desire. And in achieving, I must never employ means which do not please nor bring honor to my God.

Every effort, every plan executed in yieldedness and deference to His higher plan will always bring profitable outcomes. What is part of His plan will be established and what is not won't be a waste of time because each journey to finding God's will always brings maturity and understanding of God and His ways.
