Devotional: Knowing God

"And this, so that I may know Him [experientially, becoming more thoroughly acquainted with Him, understanding the remarkable wonders of His Person more completely] and [in that same way experience] the power of His resurrection [which overflows and is active in believers]... Philippians 3 "Tragedy is the absence of God in the human experience."- Recapture/Ravi Z "The noblest reason is to know God Himself."- Recapture/Ravi Z These readings rebuke and remind me that the happenings of daily life are meant to enrich my experience, understanding, and enjoyment of who God is and how He works in my pursuits and in my relationship with others. and even through whatever painful or upsetting things that happen, I know He will turn everything around for my good and for His glory. Today, I pray to put more attention onto the goodness and grace of God in every situation and in everyone.

Devotional: Love and Satisfaction

"Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love  for his wondrous works to the children of man! For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things." Psalm 107 "For If you then, although you are sinful, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!" Matthew 7 Today I think how blessed it is to have a Father who knows how to satisfy my longings. i take security in the assurance that He will fill my cravings with good things. His wisdom can be trusted. I will be granted what`s best for me.

Devotional: Overcoming Life

For if, because of one man’s sin death reigned through him, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man- Jesus Christ. Romans 5:17 Life IN Chirst brings victory. we were reborn for an overcoming life and nothing should hinder us from experiencing a free and joyful life in Christ.

How to Reduce Heat Stress and Heat-related Headaches

Heat can cause body stress and headaches. Episodes may worse during very hot, humid weather conditions. Bright sunlight and dietary changes also contribute to the severity you may experience. Devotional: Resurrection Power

We know Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him. For the death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God. So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions. Romans 6 Heb 10:10 states, Christ came to do God's will. And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Jesus did what He did on the cross  so we can have absolute certainty of full redemption. His one sacrifice also frees us from the hold of sin in this life right now. We have been made holy and we are to keep ourselves that way. the life we now live, we ought to live so for God. May I always be dependent on His enabling power.

Devotional: Certainty

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. This hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. For while we were without strength, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. Romans 5 To have certainty of the afterlife and assuring hope in this life are special blessings each christian enjoys. We were unsure of where we stood, burdened by the shameful deeds and mistakes of our past, powerless to change life and death. Now, by faith in Christ we have access to God, the source of life and strength. At the right time, Christ died for me, for the ungodly; and at all times Christ secures the present and future of the godly. He is my all-powerful loving Savior.

Devotional: Light and Truth will Prevail

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness CAN NEVER extinguish it. John 1:5 Throughout history the devil has been influencing the wicked and unrepentant people of this world to destroy or suppress the Bible and True Christianity. While it is true that with each generation, genuine believers are becoming more and more of a minority, this verse holds true, the light will continue to prevail amidst the great darkness and no matter how evil people try to twist Bible truths and deny the existence of God; no matter how the stubborn demean, distort, or dilute all that is spiritual, God will keep preserving His Word and His Sovereignty will forever stand. Peter says all will pass yet the word of God will abide forever (1 Peter 1) and God will keep for Himself a people called by His Name. I am thankful to be among the Redeemed. Today, I give Him praise for the salvation and truth I have been given in Christ.

Devotional: God the Light , Man the light-bearer

1. God, the life and light. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. John 1:4 In Christ is life, the life that gives light to man. In Christ, I find this life and I experience this light-giving life. This means I live a new kind of life, I live an enlightened life, and I live a guided life. I can rise from the confusions and misdirections of life, I can be the right person and walk the right path. 2. Man, a witness (testify) to That Light Like John, I've been given life to bear witness to the light. (John 1:5) My life is to point people towards God, to arouse curiosity of who God is and who God can be in the lives of the lost. This means i need to be spiritual and not worldly in my values and pursuits. To point people heavenward, I need to desire and reflect what is above, not here below. 3. Man, to reflect  (showcase) That Light Christ Himself tells me to shine forth my light so that people may see good works and give the credit/glory to

Devotional: God in my every day

Come! Witness the exploits of the Lord. He says, “Stop your striving and recognize that I am God! I will be exalted over the nations! I will be exalted over the earth!” Psalm 46 If I let it, life can be crowded with attractions and preoccupations and energy can all be spent in pursuits and responsibilities. The chapter reminds me to pay attention to the workings of God, to discipline myself for stillness, to be humbled, encouraged, and at peace in the knowledge and recognition that He is God. In the ordinary, in the mundane, in the urgent and in the casual, I pray to remain worshipful and to acknowledge God always before me.

Devotional: Strength in Weakness

But He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you for My power is being perfected  and shows itself most effectively in your weakness.” Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work in & through me. 2 Cor. 12:9 I am reminded that there is no shame in imperfection because it is in my moments of weakness that I can better see God's greatness. And as I remain conscious of my inabilities and faults I can better sense God's continual workings in my life and that of others'. Keeping that in view, I can openly be authentic as I take steps to personally improve and I can stay gracious and patient with others as I help them correct their faults. Today, I pray for a life that is less concerned with just public persona. I pray for a life driven to showcase God's glory in my life.

Health: Top 3 Anti-Inflammatory Foods

Don't simply depend on tablets like Aspirin, Paracetamol, or other NSAIDS to fight inflammation. Make sure you up your intake of anti-inflammatory foods first and foremost. Often, this adjustment in your diet will already be sufficient to combat the inflammation your body is currently suffering from. Here are 3 of the most effective anti-inflammatory foods to take: 1. Celery NaturalNews covered a lot of studies showing the health benefits of celery. The luteolin content found in celery is a bioflavonoid high in antioxidant properties. This reduces oxidative DNA damage in the body. Luteolin is also one of only 2 which inhibits and suppresses inflammatory responses caused by allergens. In another study, luteolin was found to help fight against DNA mutations that cause tumors and cancers like breast, prostate, and thyroid cancer. It blocks activation of carcinogens, enhances detoxification, and stimulates DNA repair. The Apigenin content of celery is found to be

Christian Quotes for the Week

Image from Anglican Archbishop of Sydney, Glenn Davies: I am to frame my life after the word of God. If the Word does not dwell with power in us, it will not pass with power from us. Where you stand in the name of Jesus and have love for the word of God,  you have nothing to be ashamed of. (Romans 1:16) Thru the word of God we have a moral code in a world where morals are on sinking sand. Thru the word of God, I am changed and changing still.

Devotional: Gains and Losses

"But whatever former things I considered gains to me I have now come to consider as absolutely worthless for the sake of Christ and the purpose which He has given my life" Philippians 3:7-8 In living my life as I saw fit, priorities, aspirations, and opinions were according to my own human perception. In submitting my life under the guidance and pleasure of God and Scriptures over my life, I begin to see and value things differently. Refocusing and reassessment begin to take place in order to align my goals and priorities with God's desires for my life. It's strange when I began to realize that the achievements I considered before are no longer that big of a deal and many of the opportunities I used to run after have now become distractions I must put away in order to pursue and achieve what matters most. I pray for the Spirit to continue to sharpen my eyes towards a better and right view of life. I am here for Him, for His pleasure; and the short time I have here on
