Devotional: Certainty

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. This hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. For while we were without strength, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. Romans 5

To have certainty of the afterlife and assuring hope in this life are special blessings each christian enjoys. We were unsure of where we stood, burdened by the shameful deeds and mistakes of our past, powerless to change life and death. Now, by faith in Christ we have access to God, the source of life and strength.

At the right time, Christ died for me, for the ungodly; and at all times Christ secures the present and future of the godly. He is my all-powerful loving Savior.
