Pre-Fall: Man and Animals were Vegetarians

https://pixabay.com/en/mushrooms-brown-mushrooms-herbs-3069811/ Meditation: Genesis 1:29-30 And God said, See, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the land and every tree with seed in its fruit; you shall have them for food.  And to all the animals on the earth and to every bird of the air and to everything that creeps on the ground—to everything in which there is the breath of life—I have given every green plant for food. And it was so. AMPC Thoughts Before sin entered the picture, both man and creatures were vegetarians. There was no killing nor was there any desire to kill for meat. I can't imagine myself not eating meat and would sort of feel a loss if I had never tasted meat. Grilled meat is a favorite of mine. But this appetite for meat, this practice of killing for meat was not God's original plan. God meant for man to rule over all the earth, but not harm His creation.

God, Creative Creator; Man, His Privileged Steward

https://pixabay.com/en/autumn-fall-ground-leaves-man-1869160/ Meditations Genesis 2:7 Then the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath or spirit of life, and man became a living being. AMPC Thoughts God is a creative creator. With His Word He can make wonderful things. With man, He chose to be even more creative and demonstrative, perhaps, to bless His creation with a chance to witness Him creating something. How greatly awed must all of His creation be, including the animals (they were created before man was) as He fashioned man from the ground and breathed into His very nostrils the breath of life. What man only imagined years and years later to depict in Sci-Fi movies, Genesis 2 has already described and told us way, way ahead! Genesis 2:15, 19 And the Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to tend and guard and keep it. AMPC And out of the ground the Lord God formed every [wild] beast and...

On Aging and Fatherhood

https://pixabay.com/en/father-and-son-happiness-love-2258681/ Bible Reading: Genesis 5  AMPC Meditations: Genesis 5: 5 Adam lived 930 years, and he died.  8 Seth lived 912 years, and he died. Adam reached 930 years and after him, the years have slowly gone down. It may be due to a number of factors. Environmental changes would be one, nature like man was slowly wasting away and the earth was no longer in a prime condition as it was during the immortal days of Adam and Eve. Stress factors also contributed to physical degeneration. Man was no longer in control and animals, especially the wild ones no longer answered to him. The era of hunting began. Animals witnessed the first of their kind slain for Adam and Eve's clothing. Fear and mistrust already began, and surely, hostility. Man now faced danger from large, powerful, wild animals who would no longer submit to humanity. Who really became the first predator? That's one interesting thing we can only speculate on. ...

Peleg: The Earth Was Divided

https://pixabay.com/en/users/WikiImages-1897/ Bible Reading: Genesis 10 Marked : Genesis 10:25 " To Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided..." Meditation:  In just 7 generations we read that the earth was divided and a son was called Peleg as namesake of that event. Tracing the roots of Peleg, we see this line: Noah-Shem-Eber-Arpachshad-Shelah-Eber-Peleg. Does this division talk about geographic separation because of the waters? Does this talk about separation of Noah's descendants into less larger families? Does this talk about a simple division resulting from differences in thinking and in way of life? Does his birth come close to the event at the Tower of Babel, when people lost their one, identical language? Commentaries can't say for sure but these are presented as possibilities. What we can say for sure is that Peleg's children saw a segregated earth. They grew up in a world where not ever...
