Fully Known by God, What a Relief

worship and reflection

Fully Known Before God

What a blessing to come at the end of the day and know that we have a Father we can fellowship with. He knows us inside out. He fully knows what happened during our day—the highs and lows, struggles, failures, mistakes, injustices, and achievements. He celebrates the wins with us and comforts us in the losses.

We are fully naked before the One we have to do with (Hebrews 4:13). That can be a scary thing for one who is not in fellowship with God. But for one who pursues after God, that is a big relief.

We don't need to explain nor defend ourselves. God knows. God understands. God forgives the unintentional errors. God honors the sincere intentions. We come as we are, and we are received as we are (Psalm 139:1–4).

You Don’t Have to Carry It Alone

If you're one who always worries about what people think, if you find it hard to move on from a setback or mistake, remind yourself that you can lay all those down at God's feet. He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). He commands you to give all cares over to Him and to stop being anxious (Philippians 4:6).

Don't worry about the future to the point of unhappiness and insecurity. As God takes care of the sparrows, He will be mindful of you (Matthew 6:26). You are not overlooked (Isaiah 49:15–16).

Do You Know the God You Trust?

It is ultimately a matter of trust, understanding, and knowledge.

Do you know the God you call your Father?

Do you trust that He can do above all we could ever hope or think (Ephesians 3:20)?

Do you understand the nature and grandeur of His identity and character?

He is pure, perfect, wise love (1 John 4:8). He has no ill intentions (Jeremiah 29:11). He is not self-motivated (1 Corinthians 13:5). Too hard to comprehend, but that's just who He is. And yet, this is the God who invites you close (James 4:8).

In the Triune God's completeness, He thought of creating you and I to share in the experience of the Godhead (John 17:22–23). How can we still cast Him aside? How can we still doubt? How can we still desire to live our own lives when the God who is ever before us has seen our beginning and our end (Isaiah 46:10), and He knows how we can have the best life now?

He is after our good, and He is constantly working things out for the best of those who are in close connection to Him (Romans 8:28). Nothing about His pursuit of us is accidental (Ephesians 1:4–5).

The Spirit is there. No frills. No dramatic entrances. He is there, has always been, the moment we became a child of God, grafted into His family by accepting the gracious gift of forgiveness and eternal life through faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross (John 1:12–13).

He remains with us—God in us right now (1 Corinthians 3:16, 4:30). God for us, in heaven, seated on the right hand of God, our intercessor and advocate with the Father (Romans 8:34; 1 John 2:1), and God Himself, the eternal Creator, Father of all, Lord of all (yet sadly not Lord in all. Three persons, one God, present and active in every part of our lives (2 Corinthians 13:14).

More Than Duty—A Response to His Invitation

Sit in His company today. Still yourself. Enjoy Him as it is our privilege to do so (Psalm 16:11). Lay yourself bare. Prepare yourself for the company of the Holy, untainted One (Isaiah 6:3).

Worship and be blessed. Let it not be a duty you must do; let it be an invitation you respond to (Matthew 11:28–29).

Container Gardening: Planting KangKong in Pots (Water Spinach)

Kang kong is a well-known leafy vegetable used in many Philippine dishes. It is quite easy to grow they say. There was a time when you can find kangkong patches on most streets in the neighborhood. It is also called water spinach or swamp cabbage. It thrives in wet, moist areas. Many grow it solely in water. It quickly grows under sunny spots but carers should keep the soil moist. Else, it may die. Some tips: Not much intstructions on planting. Just bury the seed and keep the soil moist or muddy.  Kangkong grows all year round. Cut maybe an inch or two above the soil for continued regrowth and harvesting. Winter may see your plant dying but often, it regrows by spring. You may fertilize with nitrogen twice a month. You may harvest whole plants at about 1 to 2 months. Kangkong has the tendency to spread. Grow in a container for easy maintenance or harvest whole plants to control your supply. It is best to use potting soil for your containers. Putting regular soil in res...

Choose Gratitude!

Gratitude  is how you deal with worry and anxiety.  A grateful heart  helps you get over yourself. As Christians, we are called to practice gratitude every moment, not just when life is going smoothly but especially in the hard moments. Gratitude anchors our hearts to God’s faithfulness and reminds us that we are never alone. Gratitude Helps Us See Beyond Ourselves Somewhere in the world, in this very moment, someone is dying without Jesus. Someone is living it tough. They’re without hope, unaware that God is nearby, ready to save. As followers of Christ, cultivating a heart of gratitude keeps us sensitive to these realities, pushing us to pray, share the Gospel, and love others intentionally. It also moves us to keep appreciating our salvation and security in Christ, now and whatever happens in the future. People are out there, wrestling with the purpose of life. They have never known the presence and loving touch of the One True God. They have yet to experience a r...
