Song Meditation: To My Knees

https://pixabay.com/en/users/geralt-9301/ Penned and set to music by Joel Davies and Aodhan King of Hillsong Young & Free, the worship song, "To My Knees" expresses the response of every restless heart that finds itself in God. (Listen to the song from Hillsong Young and Free's official YouTube page.) (See the official lyrics  here  and below:) Verse 1 In the Saviour’s love I find joy beyond compare Endless peace covers all of me When You breathe within You turn winter into spring Grace dissolves every fear in me Chorus Your love brings me to my knees Brings me to my knees My King forever You are all my heart desires Until the end of time My soul surrendered Verse 2 In my vacant heart Lord You came and made a home You bring light to the dark in me When I lose my way I am beckoned into grace You alone are my everything Bridge All the earth sing of mercy never ending I will worship with all t...

Pre-Fall: Man and Animals were Vegetarians

https://pixabay.com/en/mushrooms-brown-mushrooms-herbs-3069811/ Meditation: Genesis 1:29-30 And God said, See, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the land and every tree with seed in its fruit; you shall have them for food.  And to all the animals on the earth and to every bird of the air and to everything that creeps on the ground—to everything in which there is the breath of life—I have given every green plant for food. And it was so. AMPC Thoughts Before sin entered the picture, both man and creatures were vegetarians. There was no killing nor was there any desire to kill for meat. I can't imagine myself not eating meat and would sort of feel a loss if I had never tasted meat. Grilled meat is a favorite of mine. But this appetite for meat, this practice of killing for meat was not God's original plan. God meant for man to rule over all the earth, but not harm His creation.

God, Creative Creator; Man, His Privileged Steward

https://pixabay.com/en/autumn-fall-ground-leaves-man-1869160/ Meditations Genesis 2:7 Then the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath or spirit of life, and man became a living being. AMPC Thoughts God is a creative creator. With His Word He can make wonderful things. With man, He chose to be even more creative and demonstrative, perhaps, to bless His creation with a chance to witness Him creating something. How greatly awed must all of His creation be, including the animals (they were created before man was) as He fashioned man from the ground and breathed into His very nostrils the breath of life. What man only imagined years and years later to depict in Sci-Fi movies, Genesis 2 has already described and told us way, way ahead! Genesis 2:15, 19 And the Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to tend and guard and keep it. AMPC And out of the ground the Lord God formed every [wild] beast and...

Sin in the Offering

https://pixabay.com/en/enpi-adam-abel-cain-1317747/ Bible Reading: Genesis 4  AMP Genesis 4: 3-7  And in the course of time Cain brought to the Lord an offering of the fruit of the ground. And Abel brought of the firstborn of his flock and of the fat portions. And the Lord had respect and regard for A bel and for his offering,  But for [a]Cain and his offering He had no respect or regard. So Cain was exceedingly angry and indignant, and he looked sad and depressed.  And the Lord said to Cain, Why are you angry? And why do you look sad and depressed and dejected?  If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin crouches at your door; its desire is for you, but you must master it. Thoughts T he matter here may be whether Cain gave His best for his offering or not. The matter here may also be whether Cain gave the right offering God would take pleasure in or not. In a number of Scripture translations like that in the NIV, it doe...

On Aging and Fatherhood

https://pixabay.com/en/father-and-son-happiness-love-2258681/ Bible Reading: Genesis 5  AMPC Meditations: Genesis 5: 5 Adam lived 930 years, and he died.  8 Seth lived 912 years, and he died. Adam reached 930 years and after him, the years have slowly gone down. It may be due to a number of factors. Environmental changes would be one, nature like man was slowly wasting away and the earth was no longer in a prime condition as it was during the immortal days of Adam and Eve. Stress factors also contributed to physical degeneration. Man was no longer in control and animals, especially the wild ones no longer answered to him. The era of hunting began. Animals witnessed the first of their kind slain for Adam and Eve's clothing. Fear and mistrust already began, and surely, hostility. Man now faced danger from large, powerful, wild animals who would no longer submit to humanity. Who really became the first predator? That's one interesting thing we can only speculate on. ...

Song Meditations: "Heart Like Heaven" by Hillsong United

"Heart Like Heaven" is deep and profound. The Christian who bares His all before God, he who yearns after Him and what He desires; he will find the song lyrics hitting close to home: Holy, no measure knows Your worth. Face down, where mercy finds me first. Oh, if you sought perfection; Oh, I’d die trying to reach it. Oh, but this broken heart is all You want. Singing, “Holy"; heart like heaven. Singing, “Holy, God Almighty”. Own this heart broke sound- Singing, “Holy is Your name.” Jesus, how perfect is Your name. Savior, what song is worth this grace? Oh, I’ll throw my weakness, Oh, into Your greatness. Oh, if this broken heart is all You want. Own this sound forever. Heart and heaven together, Singing, “Holy is Your Name”. And if it lifts You higher, Burn in me Your desire- A passion worthy of Your Name. For You are worthy Jesus, Savior. You are worthy, King forever. Hear my soul cry out- Singing, “Holy...
