Devotional: Blinded

11 The entire vision [of all these things] will be to you like the words of a scroll that is sealed, which they give to one who can read, asking him to read but he cannot , for it is sealed.” Then they will give it to one who cannot read, asking him to read but he cannot because he is unable.

13 Then the Lord said,
"Because this nation approaches [Me only] with their words
And honors Me [only] with their lip service,
But they remove their hearts far from Me,
And their reverence for Me is a tradition that is learned by rote [without any regard for its meaning]," Isaiah 29:11-13

It is a sad thing to see God and yet not see Him. There is a danger for me to become blinded to a deeper and fruitful understanding and perception of God and His ways. And if I don't watch it, I can become attached to the mechanics, to the specifics yet become disconnected from the relationship.

"Religion and its specifics can easily lose contact with what salvation is all about.". It is never about rituals, it's about a relationship.-Ravi Z
