What Does It Take to BE Fulfilled?

person taking a journey to fulfillment

Satisfied. Gratified. Accomplished. Content. Happy. Pleased. Realized. These are descriptive of feeling and being fulfilled. But beyond emotions, fulfilment speaks of a deeper state — one where your heart, mind, and spirit are at peace, aligned with your purpose and your Creator.

What Does It Take To BE Fulfilled?

Fulfilment can be quite tricky. It can elude the intellectual, the rich, and even the successful.

Having the brains, the riches and "making it" in this life does not guarantee that you will experience fulfilment on this world.

Statistics prove that point. Suicide rates are found among the wealthy or those with status in society. Divorce touches even the most solid couple we know. Families can be broken.

We see people who see to have everything the world offers — beauty, money, fame, comfort — yet still feel empty inside. Their souls crave meaning, not just milestones.

And the core reasons for every break down of life, relationships, or career often include dissatisfaction, where one or all parties concerned are unfulfilled in their situation.

When the heart is restless, achievements feel hollow. When the spirit lacks peace, no success can silence the longing for something more.

Fulfilment Is In God

King Solomon, the wisest person of his time, knew this to be true.

He held the highest position in the land, owned a ridiculous amount of material things, and no one was wiser and more intelligent than he was.

But he found no peace and fulfilment in all these once he drifted away from God. This clues us in that fulfilment is not the product of possessions, but the fruit of presence — God’s presence in our lives.

The best outcomes are achieved when God is involved. If you want a fulfilling life, relationship or career, God has to be in it.

Acts 17:28 says, "For in him we live and move and have our being."

Solomon realised that at the end of a meaningful life that has sense and worth is God in the equation.

Ecclesiastes 12:13 "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man."

Man can never find the drive towards fulfilment and actually find it without God in his life. Without Him, everything eventually loses meaning and fades into vanity.

No matter how hard a person denies the existence of God, He is. Nature, creation can never hide that He is among us.

We find our energy, our breath, our means of existing IN Him. And we find our reason, purpose, and urge to go on living IN Him. Every dream, every pursuit, every relationship becomes complete only when anchored in Him. Otherwise, we keep running after wind — busy, but never settled.

Colossians 1:16 "For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him"

The atheist who can sincerely say he is joyful and satisfied at the end of his life has either learned to totally be in denial or has fully deluded himself of the sad myth that creation can be happy and fulfilled without God. True joy cannot be fabricated; it is born from communion with the One who designed our hearts.

Romans 1:20 "For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God."

Prioritise Your Relationship With God

What does it take to Be Fulfilled? Prioritise your relationship with God. All else is temporary. This life is not it for us. We were not made merely to survive the years, but to walk with God through them.

Things and relationships will be lost, achievements will expire or be a thing of the past. We will all pass on into eternity.

In all these things, in all stages of life, God is the One permanent person and possession we will have. So we need to involve Him.

Allow Him to guide and bless us.

Follow His direction. Because He will always have our very best in mind.

Trust His workings because He will always bring out good in every circumstance. Romans 8:28

Be in His Word. Know what you believe. Learn Spiritual Truths you need for life.

Spend time with Him daily — in prayer, worship, and listening. When you align your choices with His truth, you experience peace that no circumstance can shake. Fulfilment grows not from what you achieve, but from who you walk with through every season.

Final Thoughts

Wether we see it or not. Wether we understand or not. Our Father is key to a fulfilled life, relationship, and pursuit in this world. We can be successful, certainly. We can create the life we want, we can have the people we want in our lives. But, we can be fulfilled in every ups, and we can remain fulfilled through every lows; because we have God and His Word to create, direct, and sustain that fulfilment within us.

Fulfilment is not THE destination — it is THE process and the relationship through it all. It is the steady assurance that your life has purpose because it is held by the hands of a loving God. So seek Him first, and all the rest — joy, peace, contentment — will follow in their right place.

Container Gardening: Planting KangKong in Pots (Water Spinach)

Kang kong is a well-known leafy vegetable used in many Philippine dishes. It is quite easy to grow they say. There was a time when you can find kangkong patches on most streets in the neighborhood. It is also called water spinach or swamp cabbage. It thrives in wet, moist areas. Many grow it solely in water. It quickly grows under sunny spots but carers should keep the soil moist. Else, it may die. Some tips: Not much intstructions on planting. Just bury the seed and keep the soil moist or muddy.  Kangkong grows all year round. Cut maybe an inch or two above the soil for continued regrowth and harvesting. Winter may see your plant dying but often, it regrows by spring. You may fertilize with nitrogen twice a month. You may harvest whole plants at about 1 to 2 months. Kangkong has the tendency to spread. Grow in a container for easy maintenance or harvest whole plants to control your supply. It is best to use potting soil for your containers. Putting regular soil in res...

Why Am I Sleepy During the Day?

What's causing your eyes and brain to shut down during the day? Choose Gratitude!

Gratitude  is how you deal with worry and anxiety.  A grateful heart  helps you get over yourself. As Christians, we are called to practice gratitude every moment, not just when life is going smoothly but especially in the hard moments. Gratitude anchors our hearts to God’s faithfulness and reminds us that we are never alone. Gratitude Helps Us See Beyond Ourselves Somewhere in the world, in this very moment, someone is dying without Jesus. Someone is living it tough. They’re without hope, unaware that God is nearby, ready to save. As followers of Christ, cultivating a heart of gratitude keeps us sensitive to these realities, pushing us to pray, share the Gospel, and love others intentionally. It also moves us to keep appreciating our salvation and security in Christ, now and whatever happens in the future. People are out there, wrestling with the purpose of life. They have never known the presence and loving touch of the One True God. They have yet to experience a r...
