God is Good!

God is good

He is. And after years of living with the COVID-19 pandemic, God's people should even be more convinced about this truth.

Bitterness, resentment, and misjudging God are all the wrong ways that people can deal with hardships and pain.

Rather, realising He is good and not evil. Remembering that He is forever good and there is nothing evil in Him. Understanding that whatever we can't comprehend, God remains good.

God is good. He is our very strength and refuge in times of trouble. (Nahum 1:7)

We experience how true this Scripture verse is whenever we choose to run to Him and trust Him instead of running away and rebelling because of our unpleasant situations.

How many times has Christ shown up in the middle of our difficulties?  Think about it.

When you accomplish something you didn't think you ever could. When you survive through something that was impossible for you to overcome on your own? That's Philippians 4:13. That is Christ showing up and enabling you, carrying you through it.

God is good to all at all times. He is forever good. (Psalm 145:9, 1 Chronicles 16:34)

He is good to everyone. He is good to people you don't like. He is good to the evil and despicable. And most importantly, He is good to you at your best and remains good to you at your worst.

To think that we deserve His goodness is foolish. To think that we are entitled to good things because we are good and work hard is childish. It is God who gives us the very strength and resources to accomplish anything in this life.

We achieve because it is God who makes us achievers. His creation is forever nothing without Him. And to question, doubt, and scold our Creator doesn't really make sense. That's why we should humbly ask for His revelation when we don't understand things.

We ought to trust and seek His enlightenment when we're in the dark. Because God will bring things to light in time. And even if He doesn't, we know that He works everything for our ultimate good. (Romans 8:28.)

He is a good Father.

God wants us to be happy and blessed. He wants spiritual prosperity for us. And He wants us to be happy and fulfilled in this life. He has given us everything we need to live a godly life.  (2 Peter 1:3)

And we know God wants us to live godly lives because that's where every blessing lies.

As we begin to know, understand, and trust God more and more, we find the right path, the right passion, and the right pursuits. We realise what the wiser and more profitable investments are.

We discern where we should put more of our time, money, and efforts in. We also rediscover that happiness in life is not sustained by materialism and achievements.

We learn to pursue financial gain and accomplishments to find happiness and fulfillment in life. But ultimately, we prove that in becoming intimate with God and learning contentment in life, we find lasting joy and utmost fulfillment in this life.

Taste and See that the Lord is Good!

Psalm 34:8 invites us to taste and see that the Lord is good. Experience for ourselves His goodness and prove that He is indeed good. Trust Him and experience that the one who trusts the Father experiences a blessed life.

Container Gardening: Planting KangKong in Pots (Water Spinach)

Kang kong is a well-known leafy vegetable used in many Philippine dishes. It is quite easy to grow they say. There was a time when you can find kangkong patches on most streets in the neighborhood. It is also called water spinach or swamp cabbage. It thrives in wet, moist areas. Many grow it solely in water. It quickly grows under sunny spots but carers should keep the soil moist. Else, it may die. Some tips: Not much intstructions on planting. Just bury the seed and keep the soil moist or muddy.  Kangkong grows all year round. Cut maybe an inch or two above the soil for continued regrowth and harvesting. Winter may see your plant dying but often, it regrows by spring. You may fertilize with nitrogen twice a month. You may harvest whole plants at about 1 to 2 months. Kangkong has the tendency to spread. Grow in a container for easy maintenance or harvest whole plants to control your supply. It is best to use potting soil for your containers. Putting regular soil in res...

Why Am I Sleepy During the Day?

What's causing your eyes and brain to shut down during the day? Why can't you keep your eyes open just when you really need to get some work or reading done? If you’ve been asking yourself, “ Why am I sleepy during the day ?” or struggling with that mid-morning or afternoon crash, you’re not alone. Millions of people deal with daytime sleepiness that makes it hard to focus, stay productive, or even enjoy daily activities. The good news? Most causes are simple and fixable once you know what’s behind that drowsy feeling. Too Many Carbs – A Common Cause of Daytime Fatigue If you're not careful, you can over-consume carbohydrates. And when you're taking in more carbohydrates than you can burn, you will get sleepy. Dr. Libby says it's either because your insulin levels are high or you might be gluten intolerant. Eat pasta, bread, potatoes and rice in moderation and space them properly. Studies show that a meal high in refined carbs can spike your blood sugar, follow...

Choose Gratitude!

Gratitude  is how you deal with worry and anxiety.  A grateful heart  helps you get over yourself. As Christians, we are called to practice gratitude every moment, not just when life is going smoothly but especially in the hard moments. Gratitude anchors our hearts to God’s faithfulness and reminds us that we are never alone. Gratitude Helps Us See Beyond Ourselves Somewhere in the world, in this very moment, someone is dying without Jesus. Someone is living it tough. They’re without hope, unaware that God is nearby, ready to save. As followers of Christ, cultivating a heart of gratitude keeps us sensitive to these realities, pushing us to pray, share the Gospel, and love others intentionally. It also moves us to keep appreciating our salvation and security in Christ, now and whatever happens in the future. People are out there, wrestling with the purpose of life. They have never known the presence and loving touch of the One True God. They have yet to experience a r...
